Nathan Searles

Nathan is a certified Master Herbalist through the Global Collage of Natural Medicine. He has since learned from an array of teachers with various backgrounds in the healing arts (including TCM, Ayurveda, Native American, Folk craft, and Western Herbalism) both directly and indirectly. His preferred learning is through taking a great deal of time directly with the plants and fungi themselves. While the healing arts are a passion for him, mycology, ecology, critical thinking/problem solving,  research and “in the field” study are his true areas of interest. Between being a father, husband and working a full time job Nathan operates his small business, Forgotten Traditions LLC, wildcrafting, processing and extracting New Hampshire native species of medicinal mushrooms. Nathan was born and raised in the Northeast US, spending much of his life, in one way or another, playing in the woods and experiencing what the ecology of his region of the world has to offer. Nathan was invited and had the opportunity to be a speaker for the “Fantastic Forage Mushroom Festival” in Laconia, New Hampshire in 2016, and has spoken as an educator at several other venues focused on ecology and shared wellness (believing that true wellness is in harmony with the environment around each of us)
